Hi there! I'm Shermain! Thank you for being here. A little bit about me. I was born on the tropical shores of a small Caribbean island called Antigua. While my journey began in the warm embrace of island life, my dreams were as vivid as our sunsets. Propelled by ambition, I moved to New York, pursuing a dual career as a singer and a student of international criminal justice at John Jay College.

My passion for the arts led me to grace international stages, representing my country at the Miss World and Miss Universe pageants. Achieving Top 15 at Miss World and winning the Talent Award, I furthered my singing career, recording an album with a hit song featuring dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel (Yes! I did that!) and winning talent shows across New York City. These experiences also led to me gracing the cover of Black Beauty Magazine (UK) and Basia Magazine out of Trinidad among others. I was even a model for Deep Brilliance hair company. You could see me on the cover of many of their beauty products.

However, life's darker currents swirled beneath the surface. Struggling with fear, self-doubt, and childhood trauma, I faced a challenging chapter in my life that marked by a toxic and abusive marriage. Becoming a mother of two beautiful children within this turmoil, helped me muster the courage to chart a course toward single motherhood—seeking a life defined by resilience and hope.

Returning to my roots, I was able to not only find love again (he's now my fiance!) but being grounded allowed me to truly find myself and my voice again anchoring the nightly news and hosting my own talk show during the pandemic. What started as a personal outlet, 4MomsLikeMe has blossomed into a sanctuary for empowerment. When I'm not blogging and posting on my pages or spending time with family, I'm busy at work churning out award-winning marketing campaigns and stellar events for clients around the world.

4MomsLikeMe is more than just a blog; it's a movement. This blog has grown into a vibrant community over the past 7 years where I have shared the raw and real aspects of motherhood, intertwined with the triumphs and trials of life. Here, honesty and authenticity pave the way for meaningful connections. It's a space where uncomfortable truths foster growth and understanding, where moms are celebrated for their boldness and beauty, and where every story shared fortifies the belief that thriving families are the cornerstone of thriving communities.
